The New Jersey Devils on Wednesday re-signed forwards Stephen Gionta and Steve Bernier. Financial terms were not disclosed, but multiple reports said Gionta signed a two-year contract and Bernier signed for one year.
Gionta and Bernier are two-thirds of New Jersey's fourth line.
Gionta, 30, will be entering his fifth season with the Devils in 2014-15. He had four goals and 11 points in 66 games last season. Bernier, 29, will be entering his fourth season with the Devils. He had three goals and 12 points in 78 games in 2013-14.
The final piece to the fourth line is unrestricted free agent left wing Ryan Carter. Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello has acknowledged his desire to bring back all three players for at least one more season.
Carter, 30, had seven goals and 10 points in 62 games last season.
