Berglund agrees to three-year deal with Blues
The St. Louis Blues on Thursday agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension with forward Patrik Berglund.

The St. Louis Blues on Thursday agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension with forward Patrik Berglund. No financial terms were released, but Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that the deal is worth $11.1 million, an average annual value of $3.7 million.

Berglund, 26, appeared in 78 regular-season games with the Blues in 2013-14, finishing with 14 goals and 32 points. He was scoreless in four games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Berglund, the Blues' first selection (No. 25) in the 2006 NHL Draft, has 106 goals and 220 points in 436 regular-season games during his six seasons with St. Louis. He had career bests of 22 goals, 30 assists and 52 points in 2010-11, and would have become a restricted free agent on July 1.

Internationally, Berglund has represented Sweden on six occasions, including the 2014 Sochi Olympics, where he earned a silver medal.

When things aren't going well for us in this city [Toronto], I think there is a lot of overanalyzing going on. You've got the most passionate fans in the world here and a lot of (media) coverage, so you know there's going to be a lot of people giving their two cents worth on us.
