Texas Stars on cusp of Calder Cup title after OT win
Travis Morin scored the game-winner in overtime Monday to give the Texas Stars a 4-3 win and a 3-1 series lead against the St. John's IceCaps in the Calder Cup Finals.

Travis Morin scored 2:24 into overtime and the Texas Stars rallied for a 4-3 victory against the St. John's IceCaps in Game 4 of the Calder Cup Finals at Mile One Centre on Monday.

The game-winner was Morin's second goal of the game; he also scored at 15:33 of the second period after St. John's raced out to a 3-0 lead.

Texas leads 3-1 in the best-of-7 series and can win the American Hockey League's championship for the first time with a victory in Game 5 on Tuesday in St. John's (6 p.m. ET).

Curtis McKenzie and Brett Ritchie also scored for the Stars, and goalie Cristopher Nilstorp made 32 saves for the Dallas Stars' AHL affiliate. Brendan Ranford had three assists.

Ben Chiarot, Carl Klingberg and Kael Mouillierat scored for the IceCaps, who went up 3-0 when Mouillierat scored on the power play 9:21 into the second period. Goaltender Michael Hutchinson stopped 34 of 38 shots in the loss.

St. John's is the top affiliate for the Winnipeg Jets.

Morin and McKenzie scored 2:36 apart late in the second period to cut the IceCaps' lead to 3-2. The score stayed that way until Ritchie tied it for Texas with 2:09 left in regulation.

Texas improved to 5-0 in overtime this postseason, with each win coming on the road. St. John's is 0-3.
