Forward Iiro Pakarinen agreed to terms on a two-year, entry-level contract with the Edmonton Oilers.

Forward Iiro Pakarinen agreed to terms Monday on a two-year, entry-level contract with the Edmonton Oilers.

Pakarinen, 22, scored 20 goals and added 10 assists in 60 games with HIFK Helsinki this season.

The 6-foot-1, 194-pound wing also represented Finland at the 2014 IIHF World Championship, and had three goals and a plus-8 rating in 10 games, helping Finland earn a silver medal.

A native of Suonenjoki, Finland, Pakarinen has represented his country twice at the World Junior Championship (2010, 2011), with two goals and five points in 12 games.

Pakarinen was a seventh-round pick (No. 184) by the Florida Panthers in the 2011 NHL Draft.

Quote of the Day

That was something I've been dreaming of, something I've told myself before the third period I was going to do ... It was an amazing feeling. It's hard to describe. I didn't believe it went in at first but when I saw all the reaction and all the fans going crazy and my teammates going crazy, it's just an unbelievable feeling. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know whether to jump or just skate and do a Theo Fleury. I don't think I'm the same caliber player he is so I couldn't do it.
