The Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday agreed with forward Dennis Rasmussen on a one-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Rasmussen, 23, had 40 points (16 goals, 24 assists) in 52 games this season with Vaxjo of the Swedish Hockey League. He led Vaxjo in points, ranked second in goals and assists, and was 10th in the league in points, 12th in assists and 17th in goals. He had six points (two goals, four assists) in 12 SHL playoff games.
A native of Vasteras, Sweden, Rasmussen had 85 points (40 goals, 45 assists) in 149 SHL games with Vaxjo from 2011 to 2014. He helped Sweden to bronze medals at the 2014 IIHF World Championship and the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship.
