Sharks forward Couture OK for camp after surgery
San Jose Sharks forward Logan Couture will be ready for training camp after having surgery to repair an injury to his hand.

San Jose Sharks forward Logan Couture will be ready for training camp after having surgery to repair an injury to his hand, the team announced Tuesday.

"Last week, Logan underwent successful surgery to repair a hand injury suffered in a fight in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against Mike Richards," general manager Doug Wilson said in a statement. "The procedure went as expected and Logan will be ready for the start of training camp."

Couture played in Game 7 of the Western Conference First Round against the Los Angeles Kings, which the Sharks lost to lose the series after leading it 3-0.

Couture had 54 points (23 goals) and was plus-21 in 65 regular-season games. The 25-year-old had three points in seven playoff games.

Defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic told the San Jose Mercury News he would be ready for camp after sustaining an upper-body and a knee injury in Game 5 against the Kings. He did not play in Games 6 or 7.

"It's a question of time; it's the exact same (knee) injury I had two years ago at the World Championships (sprained MCL) and it takes six to eight weeks to heal,” Vlasic said. "If I take care of it now, I should be 100 percent come training camp."
