Panthers to meet with Bylsma: report
The Florida Panthers will meet with Dan Bylsma as part of their search for a new coach, according to a South Florida Sun Sentinel report

Former Pittsburgh Penguins coach Dan Bylsma is one of six candidates for the Florida Panthers' coaching vacancy and will meet with the team in New York City, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Bylsma is working with the NHL Network as a guest analyst during the Stanley Cup Final.

The report listed the other five candidates as Ron Wilson, Montreal Canadiens assistant Gerard Gallant, Marc Crawford, and Detroit Red Wings assistants Tom Renney and Bill Peters. All five have met with or spoke to Panthers general manager Dale Tallon and will sit with owner Vincent Viola, vice chairman Douglas Cifu, and CEO and president Rory Babich.

Bylsma is a potential candidate for the open Vancouver Canucks coaching position, the Vancouver Sun reported Saturday.

Bylsma is the winningest coach in Penguins history. He had a 252-117-32 record in parts of six seasons, won the Jack Adams Award as the NHL's best coach in 2011, and the Penguins never finished lower than second in their division during his tenure.

Bylsma is 43-35 in 78 Stanley Cup Playoff games, 27-27 since winning the Stanley Cup in 2009. Pittsburgh was eliminated from the 2014 postseason by the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference Second Round, losing Game 7 at home after leading the series 3-1.

Quote of the Day

I just wanted to do something to take my mind off the shot and let me relax a little bit. It seemed like the fans liked it. I'm glad I was able to score.
