Red-hot Blue Jays get some love from Kings' Kopitar at Stanley Cup final

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - The Toronto Blue Jays, who have been tearing up the American League East of late, got a little love at the Stanley Cup final on Thursday.

Los Angeles Kings star forward Anze Kopitar showed up at an off-day media availability Thursday, wearing a Blue Jays ball cap.

Asked where he got the hat, the 26-year-old Slovenian smiled.

"I snagged it from Drew Doughty," he said, referring to the Kings defenceman from London, Ont.

"I like to watch baseball once in a while," he continued. "I'm not going to watch all the games, all 162. But I'll sit down and watch it and just relax."

Quote of the Day

You don't see many. The [Drew] Doughtys, the [P.K.] Subbans, those are guys that create offense from the back and then on top of that ability, the size that he has. In the West you play against some pretty big players, and being able to clear the crease and contain the [Ryan] Getzlafs and the [Corey] Perrys and [Anze] Kopitars and players like that, we're excited about him going back there.
