AHL issues one-game suspension to St. John's IceCaps defenceman Will O'Neill

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - St. John's IceCaps defenceman Will O'Neill was suspended for one game by the American Hockey League on Monday.

It's a result of O'Neill's match penalty for cross-checking in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference final at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last Saturday.

O'Neill will miss Game 6 on Tuesday. The IceCaps have a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Quote of the Day

I definitely think going back down helped me, I had a lot of confidence down there, I played a lot of minutes and I think that helped me a lot. With the 37 games up here, that gave me experience as well. I know what it takes to play in the NHL and now it's time for me to show that I'm capable of being a full-time NHL player.
