TORONTO - Rogers Communications Inc. (TSX:RCI.B) has signed Scotiabank as its first major NHL sponsor since acquiring exclusive multimedia rights to National Hockey League games beginning this fall. The six-year deal with Scotiabank (TSX:BNS) includes new Sunday night and Wednesday night TV shows carried either by Rogers Sportsnet cable channels or its City television stations. It also anticipates new ways of delivering sport statistics during games through what's been called "the second screen" — network-connected computers, tablets and smartphones — and other online content.
