After 2nd-round ouster, Anaheim Ducks head into future without Selanne, perhaps Hiller, Koivu

ANAHEIM, Calif. - While the Anaheim Ducks packed up for the summer, Teemu Selanne already was off enjoying his first few days of retirement.

The Ducks will have to get used to life without the Finnish Flash after their second-round playoff ouster by the Los Angeles Kings. Selanne might not be the only veteran departing Anaheim, either.

Goalie Jonas Hiller is nearly certain he'll have to leave as a free agent. Center Saku Koivu hasn't decided whether to return for another season.

And general manager Bob Murray will explore numerous options for improving the two-time Pacific Division champions, who couldn't extend the best regular season in franchise history into the conference final.

Murray made himself the Ducks' first big off-season signing, agreeing to a four-year contract extension through 2020.

Quote of the Day

He's, believe it or not, actually one of my favorite guys, and I've ended up trading him twice. I appreciate what he's done. He was one year away from being an unrestricted free agent, and I felt with this opportunity, that it was a chance that we were able to get somebody for him in Nick Bonino and Adam Clendening.
