Pacioretty breaks slump with goal, assist, as Habs stay alive with 4-0 win over Bruins

MONTREAL - Carey Price made 26 saves for the shutout as the Montreal Canadiens beat the Boston Bruins 4-0 to force Game 7.

Thomas Vanek scored twice while Lars Eller and Max Pacioretty also scored for Montreal, which overwhelmed the Bruins to tie the series at three after losing two in a row.

Eller opened the scoring just 2:11 into the game after the Bruins misplayed the puck and Eller was alone in front of the net to beat a sprawled out Tuukka Rask.

Pacioretty made it 2-0 after scoring on a long stretch pass through Rask's five-hole in the second period.

Before the period was over Vanek banged in another on the power play. Vanek added his second into an empty net late in the third.

Rask finished with 24 saves for the Bruins, who host Game 7 on Wednesday.

Quote of the Day

I first met him when I was 19 years old and he coached me for 13 consecutive years. I don't know how many athletes who have had that pleasure. Al Arbour was a man that left us not only feeling like champions, but left us with a lot of great memories that we can carry on through life.
