Oilers sign Lander to contract extension
The Edmonton Oilers agreed to terms with center Anton Lander on a one-year contract extension.

The Edmonton Oilers on Monday agreed to terms with center Anton Lander on a one-year contract extension.

Lander, 23, was a second-round selection (No. 40) by the Oilers in the 2009 NHL Draft. He has two goals and eight points in 94 career NHL games.

He split the season between the Oilers and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Barons. He appeared in 27 games with the Oilers, and had one assist and four penalty minutes.

Lander, a native of Sundsvall, Sweden, captained the Oklahoma City Barons, scoring 18 goals and 52 points with a plus-7 rating in 53 games. His 52 points ranked second on the team, and he also ranked second in assists and power-play goals. He had a goal and an assist for the Barons in three Calder Cup playoff games.
