Hurricanes goaltender Peters added to Team Canada roster for worlds

CALGARY - Team Canada's goaltending for the upcoming world championship is all set with the addition of Justin Peters from the Carolina Hurricanes.

Peters, a 27-year-old native of Blyth, Ont., joins James Reimer of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ben Scrivens of the Edmonton Oilers in the goalie rotation.

With Peters confirmed for the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, which runs from May 9-25 in Minsk, Belarus, Canada has 21 players on its roster. Every team is allowed to register up to 25.

If all 25 spots are used, expect one more defenceman — probably a left-handed shot — to be added along with three more forwards.

Quote of the Day

I was going nuts and I saw [Subban], he was going crazy, and the ref had no idea where to go. [Subban] was skating to me, and I was skating to him and the ref was right in between us and I don't know, I kind of hit him pretty hard, I thought, but those were some emotions and I'm pretty sure he understands that.
