NHL fines Stars' Garbutt for spearing Ducks' Perry during playoff game

NEW YORK, N.Y. - The NHL fined Dallas Stars forward Ryan Garbutt $1,474.36 on Saturday for spearing Corey Perry of the Anaheim Ducks during a playoff game.

The incident occurred in the first period of Anaheim's 6-2 victory Friday night.

Garbutt was assessed a major penalty for spearing and game misconduct.

Quote of the Day

I spent a long summer thinking about that playoff series and what could have been. [The Blackhawks] ended up being the Stanley Cup champions, so we know we lost to a very good team. It's tough to know how close we were, and it motivates us for this year.
