Dallas' Garbutt fined for spearing Anaheim's Perry
Dallas Stars forward Ryan Garbutt has been fined $1,474.36 for spearing Corey Perry of the Anaheim Ducks during Game 5 of their playoff series.

NEW YORK – Dallas Stars forward Ryan Garbutt has been fined $1,474.36, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for spearing Anaheim Ducks forward Corey Perry during Game 5 of the teams’ First Round Stanley Cup Playoffs series in Anaheim on Friday, April 25, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 9:11 of the first period. Garbutt was assessed a major penalty for spearing and game misconduct.

The fine money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
