OHL Roundup: Battalion sweep Generals in Eastern Conference final

NORTH BAY, Ont. - Jamie Lewis scored the winner with 5:33 left to play as the North Bay Battalion edged the Oshawa Generals 3-2 on Wednesday to sweep their Ontario Hockey League playoff series.

Alex Henriksson and Marcus McIvor also scored as North Bay won the OHL's Eastern Conference final. Jake Smith made 31 saves for the win.

Dylan Smoskowitz and Michael Dal Colle supplied the offence for Oshawa, while Ken Appleby stopped 25 shots.

Henriksson scored on the power play as the Battalion went 1 for 2 with the man advantage. The Generals went 1 for 4 on the power play.

North Bay will play the winner of the OHL's Western Conference final between the Guelph Storm and Erie Otters. Guelph leads that series 3-1.

Quote of the Day

I downplayed the first one because I thought it's just a hockey game. We just want to win the game; it's against our rival and we want the two points. I downplayed it, but now having gone through the first one I look back and say, 'Geez, that was really cool.' I think as I've grown a bit older I've got a lot more appreciation for what we're allowed to do every day.
