Canada beats Denmark 7-2 in exhibition game ahead of under-18 world championship

LAPPEENRANTA, Finland - The Canadian men's under-18 team defeated Denmark 7-2 in an exhibition game Monday ahead of the upcoming world championship.

Brayden Point of the Moose Jaw Warriors scored twice and added an assist.

Canada dropped a 3-2 decision to Finland in its first exhibition game last Friday.

Canada will open the tournament Thursday against Sweden.

Preliminary round play continues through April 22 and the medal games are set for April 27.

Canada is a three-time gold medallist at the tournament, winning in 2003, 2008 and 2013.

Quote of the Day
