The 22-year-old Coreau signed with the Red Wings last summer after a three-year career at Northern Michigan. In 76 games with the Wildcats from 2010-13, he went 32-31-8 with a 2.74 goals-against average.
Coreau has appeared in 19 games with Toledo as a first-year pro, going 1-12-5 with a 4.10 GAA. He's also made five appearances for the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins, going 0-4 with a 4.39 GAA.
Life's about opportunity and how you respond to that opportunity, and obviously he must have some swagger about him, some confidence about him, because he was solid. He made some good saves. He was 6-foot-3 on every shot, which is a good thing for a goalie. He played well. We got a win.
