Michael Joly scores twice as Rimouski beat Blainville-Boisbriand 4-2 in Game 1

RIMOUSKI, Que. - Michael Joly scored twice as the Rimouski Oceanic beat the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 4-2 to win the first game of their second-round Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoff series Thursday.

Frederik Gauthier and Alexis Loiseau also scored for Rimouski, which led 3-0 heading into the third period.

Philippe Sanche and Daniel Walcott brought the Armada to within one with a pair of goals three minutes apart.

But an empty-net goal by Joly put the game away for Rimouski in the dying seconds.

Philippe Desrosiers did his part with 27 saves for the Oceanic, while at the other end of the ice Etienne Marcous stopped 19 shots.

Quote of the Day

You get the right the whistles at the right times, you can leave him out there. He's a beast when it comes to being on the ice. I thought [Saturday] he was a big man. That first period, he did that lateral cut and it was like three bowling pins bounced off him. There's not too many guys that can do that.
