PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Flyers center Vincent Lecavalier scored the 400th goal of his career in the first period of the game Sunday against the Boston Bruins.

Lecavalier took a pass from Adam Hall inside the Boston blue line and off the rush fired a shot that beat Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask under his glove at 5:25 to open the scoring.

"It's a great honor," Lecavalier said. "But I have to move on now. It felt great. I never thought when I was 18 years old when I got in the League that I would get there. I was very proud."

Lecavalier is the 90th player in League history with 400 goals, and eighth active, joining Jaromir Jagr of the New Jersey Devils (704), the Anaheim Ducks' Teemu Selanne (684), Jarome Iginla of the Bruins (560), Marian Hossa of the Chicago Blackhawks (461), Daniel Alfredsson of the Detroit Red Wings (443), Patrick Marleau of the San Jose Sharks (435) and the Washington Capitals' Alex Ovechkin (419).

Lecavalier added a second goal in the final minute of the third period Sunday. In 1,098 career games, Lecavalier has 401 goals and 907 points. He has 18 goals and 33 points in 61 games this season.
