Flames sign college free agent Van Brabant
The Calgary Flames on Saturday signed collegiate free-agent forward Bryce Van Brabant to a two-year entry level contract with an average annual value of $1.35 million.

The Calgary Flames on Saturday signed collegiate free-agent forward Bryce Van Brabant to a two-year entry level contract with an average annual value of $1.35 million.

Van Brabant, a native of Morinville, Alberta, finished his third season at Quinnipiac (Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference). In 40 games, he had 15 goals, seven assists and 113 penalty minutes.

Prior to attending Quinnipiac, the 22-year-old spent three seasons playing for the Spruce Grove Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
