CINCINNATI - Wisconsin reached the NCAA Frozen Four title game in 2010 and lost to Boston College. Ferris State got there in 2012 ... and lost to Boston College.
The Badgers and the Bulldogs are back in the tournament as the top two seeds in the Midwest Regional, looking to get in position for a title.
Wisconsin (24-10-2) plays North Dakota State (23-13-3) in the semifinals on Friday night. Ferris State (28-10-3) plays Colgate (20-13-5) in the other semifinal.
Wisconsin and North Dakota State haven't played this season. Ferris State and Colgate have played three times — unusual for nonconference teams — with Colgate winning twice. The Raiders' 3-0 win on Jan. 4 became a turning point for both teams.
