Rangers' Kreider out indefinitely with injury
New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider will be out at least a month with a hand injury, TSN reported Tuesday.

New York Rangers coach Alain Vigneault told reporters Wednesday morning he does not know how long forward Chris Kreider will be out with a reported hand injury.

Kreider left a game Monday against the Phoenix Coyotes midway through the third period, and TSN's Bob McKenzie reported he could miss a month or more with a hand injury. He won't play Wednesday night against the Philadelphia Flyers, and Vigneault said Kreider will not travel with the team when it leaves for a four-game road trip to Western Canada that starts Friday in Calgary.

Kreider has 17 goals and 20 assists in 66 games this season. He averages 15:43 of ice time per game.

Vigneault also said Kreider sustained the injury Friday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He played Saturday against the New Jersey Devils before leaving the game Monday against Phoenix.

The coach said recent acquisition Martin St. Louis will join Derek Stepan and Rick Nash on the team's top line in place of Kreider.
