The Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday signed 2011 sixth-round pick Josh Manson to a two-year, entry-level contract

The Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday signed defenseman Josh Manson to a two-year, entry-level contract. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Manson, 22, was a sixth-round pick (No. 160) in the 2011 NHL Draft. He has played the past three seasons for Northeastern University, totaling six goals, 21 points and 158 penalty minutes in 99 games.

Manson, 6-foot-3 and 223 pounds, was named a 2013-14 Hockey East Second Team All-Star and the Best Defensive Defenseman after captaining Northeastern to a 19-14-4 record this season.

A native of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Manson had 22 goals, 71 points and 155 penalty minutes in 111 games with Salmon Arm of the British Columbia Hockey League prior to attending Northeastern.

Quote of the Day

I definitely think going back down helped me, I had a lot of confidence down there, I played a lot of minutes and I think that helped me a lot. With the 37 games up here, that gave me experience as well. I know what it takes to play in the NHL and now it's time for me to show that I'm capable of being a full-time NHL player.
