WHL Roundup: Chase scores winner as Hitmen edge Ice to take Game 3

CRANBROOK, B.C. - Greg Chase scored 5:05 into overtime as the Calgary Hitmen edged the host Kootenay Ice 7-6 on Monday in Game 3 of their Western Hockey League first-round playoff series.

Radel Fazleev and Landon Welykholowa each had a pair of goals for the Hitmen, who lead the series 2-1, Adam Tambellini had a goal and two assists and Travis Sanheim added a single goal.

Jaedon Descheneau scored once and set up five more for the Ice, Jagger Dirk had two goals and two assists and Sam Reinhart had a goal and four assists. Zach Franko and Luke Philp also scored to round out Kootenay's offence.

Calgary's Chris Driedger made 25 saves for the win. Mackenzie Skapski allowed seven goals on 28 shots for the Ice.

Quote of the Day

I'm just excited about the opportunity. I've been on the ice earlier than usual and in the weight room, pushing around a little more weights than usual. Every day I go into a workout with a smile on my face and ready to go. When you do have a little more responsibility, you want to take your lunch pail and get ready to work.
