Zach Redmond's late power-play goal lifts IceCaps over Falcons 5-4

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Zach Redmond's power-play goal late in the third period lifted the St. John's IceCaps over the Springfield Falcons 5-4 on Sunday in American Hockey League action.

Springfield had scored three consecutive goals to tie the game 4-4 when Redmond scored at the 18:41 mark of the third.

John Albert had a pair of goals for St. John's (41-20-4), which won its fourth straight game. Kyle MacKinnon and Carl Klingberg also scored, while Redmond added two assists.

Patrick McNeill struck twice for Springfield (39-20-6), while Ryan Craig and Michael Chaput also scored.

Jussi Olkinuora made 33 saves to earn the win, while Jeremy Smith stopped 19 shots for the Falcons.

Both teams went 2 for 7 on the power play.
