OSHAWA, Ont. - Michael Dal Colle scored twice and assisted on three others as the Oshawa Generals crushed the visiting Mississauga Steelheads 6-0 on Friday to take Game 1 of their Ontario Hockey League first-round matchup.
Oshawa's Daniel Althsuller made 21 saves for his first-career post-season shutout.
Hunter Smith matched Dal Colle's five-point outing with a goal and four assists while Josh Sterk added a pair of goals for the Generals.
Spencer Martin started in net for Mississauga and allowed five goals on 38 shots before giving way to Chase Marchand, who stopped 5-of-6 shots in nine minutes of relief.

KINGSTON, Ont. — Matt Mahalak made 28 saves and Darcy Greenaway had a goal and an assist as the Frontenacs opened their first-round matchup against Peterborough with a victory.
Samuel Schutt, Henri Ikonen and Corey Pawley also scored for Kingston.
Greg Betzhold scored the lone goal for the Petes as Andrew D'Agostini kicked out 39-of-43 shots in a losing cause.
The Frontenacs went 0 for 2 on the power play while Peterborough failed to score on four opportunities.
