Blackhawks agree to terms with forward Carey
The Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday agreed to terms with free-agent forward Matt Carey on a two-year contract.

The Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday agreed to terms with free-agent forward Matt Carey on a two-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Carey, who will wear No. 25 for the Blackhawks, had 37 points (18 goals, 19 assists) as a freshman at St. Lawrence University, sharing the team lead in goals and ranking second in points and power-play goals (11). The native of Hamilton, Ontario had a season-high three points on three occasions, including a hat trick Nov. 9 against Dartmouth.

Carey had 153 points (58 goals, 95 assists) in 93 games with Hamilton and Toronto of the Ontario Junior Hockey League from 2010 to 2012.
