COLUMBUS -- Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Justin Faulk and right wing Elias Lindholm were late scratches Tuesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Each is out due to illness, according to the team. Defenseman Mike Komisarek and right wing Radek Dvorak were inserted in the Carolina lineup.
Dvorak sustained an upper-body injury Sunday against the Edmonton Oilers and was not among the four lines at the morning skate Tuesday. He has three goals and five assists in 51 games. Komisarek played his 27th game and has two assists.
Lindholm was supposed to play on a reconfigured line with center Riley Nash and left wing Jeff Skinner. He has 16 points (six goals) in 45 games, and Faulk had played 63 of 69 games and scored three goals with 21 assists.
Defenseman Brett Bellemore took Faulk's spot on Carolina's top defensive pairing with Andrej Sekera.
Carolina is down to five defensemen for the game after Ryan Murphy sustained an upper-body injury midway through the first period on a hit by Blue Jackets forward Blake Comeau. He will not return.
