Sabres goalie Enroth leaves game with injury
Buffalo Sabres goaltender Jhonas Enroth left the game Sunday night against the Montreal Canadiens with an injury and did not return.

BUFFALO -- Buffalo Sabres goaltender Jhonas Enroth left the game Sunday night against the Montreal Canadiens with an injury and did not return to the 2-0 loss.

Enroth's night came to an end in the second period when he sustained a lower-body injury. He was hurt when Gallagher and Sabres defenseman Jamie McBain crashed into him. He was helped off the ice by the Sabres' trainer and was replaced by rookie goalie Nathan Lieuwen.

Enroth stopped 20 out of 22 shots in 36:09.

"He just started taking it to the net, so I put a stick on him, a body on him," McBain said. "Obviously, it's unfortunate when plays like that happen. It's one of those things where you're stuck behind a rock and a hard place. Obviously, you just can't let him go because he walks right in alone."

Sabres interim coach Ted Nolan said Enroth wasn't cut by Gallagher’s skate in the collision, but the injury could keep him out a while.

"He'll be evaluated in the morning," Nolan said. "It doesn't look like it's going to be short-term."

Lieuwen, who was recalled by the Sabres on an emergency basis on Sunday afternoon to replace injured backup Michal Neuvirth, replaced Enroth. The 22-year-old made 10 saves in his first appearance in the NHL.
