St. Louis Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko will have surgery after injuring his right hand Saturday during a 4-1 win against the Nashville Predators, the team announced Sunday.
Tarasenko's procedure will be performed Wednesday and he will be re-evaluated in six weeks.
The Blues recalled forward Dmitrij Jaskin from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis.
Tarasenko, 22, has 43 points (21 goals, 22 assists) and a plus-20 rating in 64 games this season. The Blues' first-round pick (No. 16) at the 2010 NHL Draft, he has 29 goals and 33 assists in 102 games.
Jaskin, 20, has 29 points (15 goals, 14 assists) in 42 games for Chicago. He has one goal and one assist in nine games for the Blues.
