Jets goalie Pavelec injured vs. Rangers
Winnipeg Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec played the entire first period against the New York Rangers on Friday, but was not in goal to start the second due to a lower-body injury and missed the rest of the game.

WINNIPEG -- Winnipeg Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec left the team's game Friday against the New York Rangers at MTS Centre with an undisclosed injury.

Jets coach Paul Maurice did not provide any further information on Pavelec's injury after the game, only saying his goalie would be evaluated further Saturday. Pavelec played the entire first period, but was replaced by Al Montoya to start the second and did not return.

Making his seventh start in the Jets' past eight games, Pavelec allowed two goals on eight shots before leaving the game. Pavelec's 53 games this season rank third in the NHL, and he has not been injured before during the Jets' three seasons in Winnipeg.

Pavelec has played 164 games the past three seasons, including a career-high 68 games in 2011-12. The 26-year-old goaltender is in his fifth full NHL season and is 20-24-6 this season with 2.95 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage.

The game was tied 2-2 when Pavelec exited. The Rangers won 4-2.
