Senators' Ceci leaves game after hit in head by shot
Ottawa Senators rookie defenseman Cody Ceci was bleeding from the right side of his head as he was helped off the ice to the dressing room Monday night.

OTTAWA -- Ottawa Senators defenseman Cody Ceci left the game Monday after he was struck in the head by Nashville Predators defenseman Shea Weber's slap shot midway through the first period. He did not return.

Ceci fell to the ice in front of Ottawa goalie Craig Anderson after he was hit on the side of the head by Weber's drive from inside the blue line at 10:21 of the first period.

The 20-year-old rookie was bleeding from the right side of his head as he was helped off the ice to the dressing room.

Weber put a slap shot off Anderson's mask at 7:15 of the first that knocked the Senators goalie down. Ottawa medical personnel tended to Anderson on the ice, but the goalie remained in the game.
