SUNRISE, Fla. -- Boston Bruins forward Daniel Paille left the game Sunday against the Florida Panthers in the first period with an apparent upper-body injury.

Paille was hurt after taking a big hit along the boards from defenseman Ed Jovanovski at 3:06 of the first period.

Paille was able to skate to the bench on his own, but then went to the dressing room and the Bruins announced after during the first intermission that Paille would not return.

Paille has nine goals and seven assists for the Bruins this season.

Quote of the Day

It's really exciting. I'm pretty sure that when I play my first game I'm going to be emotional. To be back on the ice playing a game, being in game situations, with all the routines and rituals I do before games and during the game, I feel like I'm going to be emotional. I'm going to be really happy.
