Rask, Hamilton lift Bruins over Rangers 6-3 to complete 3-game, season-series sweep

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Tuukka Rask made 19 saves in a one-sided first period, and defenceman Dougie Hamilton had a goal and two assists to lift the Boston Bruins to a 6-3 victory over the Rangers on Sunday night and their first season-sweep of New York in 31 years.

Rask was at his best early and finished with 39 saves. He outdueled New York netminder Henrik Lundqvist, who stopped 27 shots on his 32nd birthday but lost for the second straight day. The Bruins are 9-2-3 in their last 14 games.

The Rangers fell one point behind second-place Philadelphia — which beat New York 4-2 on Saturday. They lead fourth-place Washington by one point.

Lundqvist has allowed nine goals in two games since returning from the Olympics.

Gregory Campbell had two goals for Boston, while Milan Lucic, Jarome Iginla and Carl Soderberg also scored.

Quote of the Day

I was going nuts and I saw [Subban], he was going crazy, and the ref had no idea where to go. [Subban] was skating to me, and I was skating to him and the ref was right in between us and I don't know, I kind of hit him pretty hard, I thought, but those were some emotions and I'm pretty sure he understands that.
