The Penguins expect the 32-year-old will need 4-6 weeks to recover.
Defenseman Kris Letang, who suffered a stroke in January, was on the ice after practice for a casual skate with his family. Letang will not play Saturday, but the sight of him on the ice was a positive step in Bylsma's eyes. Doctors are treating Letang with blood thinners and he has been doing light exercises without weights.
"I'm targeting it day-by-day," Letang said Thursday. "I'm trying to improve every day I come here. I try to exercise the best I can. I see doctors pretty much every week, twice a week to get better. So we'll go from there."
Glass was ejected after elbowing Alexei Emelin late in the third period. Montreal scored on the five-minute power play to send the game into overtime. After the game, Glass said he understood why the penalty was called but disagreed with its timing. Bylsma said he thought it was an incorrect call but did not fault the referee.
