Zuccarello, Norway's lone NHL player, sat out his team's qualification playoff game against Russia on Tuesday, a game Norway lost 4-0. In three preliminary-round games, Zuccarello did not register a point but had 10 shots on goal and led Norway forwards with an average ice time of 22:25 per game.

Zuccarello, who will miss approximately two weeks of games for the Rangers, leads them with 43 points and is tied for second with 15 goals.

The Rangers confirmed that defenseman Marc Staal, who did not participate in practice Friday, is recovering from back spasms. The Rangers provided no timetable when Staal might return to practice.

The Rangers' next game is Feb. 27 against the Chicago Blackhawks.
