Obama, Harper make wagers on USA-Canada games
U.S. President Barack Obama, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper make wagers on USA-Canada games.

The stakes for the United States vs. Canada gold-medal game in women's hockey and semifinal in men's hockey at the 2014 Sochi Olympics have been ratcheted up a notch.

Now it's a matter of political pride, and there are a couple of cases of beer riding on the results.

U.S. President Barack Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper are making a pair of friendly wagers. A case of beer is on the line when the U.S. women meet Canada on Thursday (noon ET, NBCSN, TSN) to decide women's gold and again Friday when the men's teams play for a spot in the final (noon ET, NBCSN, CBC).
