PORTLAND, Ore. - Derrick Pouliot scored twice and Oliver Bjorkstrand had a goal and two assists as the Portland Winterhawks thumped the Prince George Cougars 5-1 in Western Hockey League action on Tuesday.
Ty Edmonds made 32 saves in defeat and Todd Fiddler scored a power-play goal at 6:49 of the first period for Prince George (25-29-8). The Cougars failed to scored on six more chances with the man advantage.
Prince George racked up 51 penalty minutes on 18 infractions. Portland took 16 penalties totalling 41 minutes.
It's cool when you think about how many great American players have played the game and the two players that were at that 18-game point streak and what they've done in their careers. It's pretty cool right now, but it was kind of overshadowed by the loss.
