WHL Roundup: Pouliot scores two to lift Winterhawks over Cougars 5-1

PORTLAND, Ore. - Derrick Pouliot scored twice and Oliver Bjorkstrand had a goal and two assists as the Portland Winterhawks thumped the Prince George Cougars 5-1 in Western Hockey League action on Tuesday.

Keegan Iverson and Tyson Predinchuk also scored for Portland (42-12-5), who was 3 for 7 on the power play. Nicolas Petan chipped in with two assists and Corbin Boes turned aside 30 shots.

Ty Edmonds made 32 saves in defeat and Todd Fiddler scored a power-play goal at 6:49 of the first period for Prince George (25-29-8). The Cougars failed to scored on six more chances with the man advantage.

Prince George racked up 51 penalty minutes on 18 infractions. Portland took 16 penalties totalling 41 minutes.
