Jones makes 40 saves as Monarchs edge IceCaps in SO for fourth straight win

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Martin Jones turned away 40 shots through 65 minutes and four more in the shootout as the Manchester Monarchs edged the visiting St. John's IceCaps 4-3 on Sunday in American Hockey League action.

Nick Shore and Jordan Weal both scored in the shootout for the Monarchs (34-14-7), who extended their win streak to four games.

Nick Deslauriers scored twice in regulation for Manchester while Linden Vey added the other.

Carl Klingberg, Adam Lowry and John Albert supplied the scoring for the IceCaps (28-19-4), who are on a three-game slide, and Michael Hutchinson made 21 saves in a losing cause.

Manchester went 0 for 3 on the power play while St. John's failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.
