Islanders' Nielsen has broken hand: report
New York Islanders center Frans Nielsen sustained a broken hand on a slash by Colorado Avalanche defenseman Erik Johnson during their game Saturday, according to a report by Arthur Staple of Newsday.

New York Islanders center Frans Nielsen sustained a broken hand by a slash by Colorado Avalanche defenseman Erik Johnson during their game Saturday, according to a report by Arthur Staple of Newsday.

Johnson received a two-game suspension Tuesday from the NHL Department of Player Safety.

Nielsen has 18 goals and 43 points in 60 games this season. The Islanders' first game after the Olympic break is Feb. 27 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
