Columbus Blue Jackets reassign defencemen Tim Erixon, Cody Goloubef to AHL Springfield

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets reassigned defencemen Cody Goloubef and Tim Erixon to their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass., on Saturday

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound blueliner has six goals and 14 assists in 41 games with the Falcons this season. He was the Blue Jackets' second pick, 37th overall, at the 2008 NHL draft.

The 22-year-old Erixon has registered four goals and 20 assists in 27 games with Springfield in 2013-14. He skated in two games for Columbus earlier this season. In 51 career NHL appearances with the Blue Jackets and New York Rangers, Erixon has seven assists.

Quote of the Day

It's about enjoying the moment. It's pretty cool to get that many people together and that excited about hockey to the point they really want you to mess up. They've got a ton of red jerseys and you have to sit back and appreciate people love hockey that much and you are the one out there who gets to play the game. Just try and stick with that respect for the game and also the mentality that for me it's just about entering the fight and seeing how long I can stay in it.
