QMJHL Roundup: DeLuca scores SO winner to lift Rimouski over Halifax

HALIFAX - Anthony DeLuca scored the only goal in a shootout to lift the Rimouski Oceanic over the Halifax Mooseheads 1-0 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action on Saturday.

Philippe Desrosiers stopped 42 shots through overtime and three more in the shootout to pick up his third shutout of the season for Rimouski (31-15-7).

Zachary Fucale made 28 saves for Halifax (34-17-3) in the loss.

DeLuca led all Oceanic skaters in shots on net with five, while Mooseheads Matt Murphy, MacKenzie Weegar and Brent Andrews had five shots apiece.

SEA DOGS 5 TITAN 3

BATHURST, N.B. — Oliver Cooper scored two goals to lead Saint John over the Titan.

Jason Cameron and Nathan Noel had a goal and an assist apiece for the Sea Dogs (17-32-4), and Nicolas Hebert scored the other.

Scott Oke had a goal and an assist for Acadie-Bathurst (17-33-6), and Nicholas Blanchard and Matthew Boudrea each scored once.

Christopher Smith made 26 saves for the victory while his Titan counterpart Jacob Brennan stopped 24 shots.

ARMADA 5 ISLANDERS 2

CHARLOTTETOWN — Danick Martel scored two and assisted on another as the visiting Armada toppled the Islanders.

Christopher Clapperton and Nikita Jevpalovs had a goal and an assist apiece for Blainville-Boisbriand (34-10-9) and Philippe Sanche added an empty-net goal at 17:54 of the third period.

Alexandre Goulet scored both goals for Charlottetown (17-32-5), who has now lost 11 in a row.

Armada goaltender Samuel Montembeault made 28 saves. Eric Brassard stopped 27 shots in the losing effort.

TIGRES 3 REMPARTS 2 (SO)

QUEBEC CITY — Jean-Francois Plante and Samuel Blais both scored in a shootout to lead Victoriaville to it's 12th straight victory.

Philippe Hudon scored two in regulation for the Tigres (28-19-6), while Angelo Miceli and Cameron Yarwood chipped in with assists on both goals.

Quebec (31-14-9) got goals from Mikhail Grigorenko and Oliver Archambault, while outshooting the Tigres 40-31.

Francois Tremblay turned aside 38 shots to pick up the victory. Callum Booth made 29 saves for the Remparts.

FOREURS 4 SAGUENEENS 3

VAL-D'OR, Que. — Jeremie Fraser's third-period goal held up as the winner as the Foreurs held off the Sagueneens.

Anthony Mantha scored twice for Val-d'Or (33-18-2), and Pierre-Maxime Poudrier added a goal and an assist. Fraser also chipped in with an assist on the night.

Jane Puhakka and Nicolas Roy had a goal and an assist apiece for Chicoutimi (25-27-1). Jeremy Bouchard recorded two assists.

Val-d'Or's Antoine Bibeau made 29 saves for the win, while Julio Billia stopped 26 shots for the Sagueneens.
