COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets acquired forward Carter Camper from the Boston Bruins on Friday in exchange for defenceman Blake Parlett.

The 25-year-old Camper has been assigned to club's American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass.

A native of Rocky River, Ohio, Camper is a former Miami (Ohio) player who has appeared in 171 career AHL games with Providence, totalling 37 goals and 128 assists. He has eight goals and 23 assists in 41 games this season.

The 24-year-old Parlett has four goals and 14 assists in 37 games with Springfield this season. In 192 career AHL games, he has 18 goals and 58 assists. Columbus acquired the 6-foot-1, 205-pounder on April 3, 2013, as part of a multiplayer trade with the New York Rangers.

For me, it's a great win for our hockey team and for a lot of people back in Columbus, especially our fans in particular … people who have been devoted to this organization, it's big.
