Detroit Red Wings F Joakim Andersson comes off injured reserve

PHILADELPHIA - Detroit Red Wings forward Joakim Andersson has been activated off injured reserve after missing six straight games with a lower-body injury.

Andersson has seven goals and six assists in 46 games this season. The Red Wings were playing the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night.

On Monday, Detroit put forward Johan Franzen on IR. Franzen has battled concussion problems recently.

Quote of the Day

Hopefully [Jonathan] has a year that pushes us, that is the organization, to speak to him next summer and looking for [a long-term contract]. Because the thought process is trying to get a goaltender, and hopefully it's Jonathan, to be the stabilizer for this franchise.
