VANCOUVER - The Vancouver Canucks have assigned forward Benn Ferriero to the American Hockey League's Utica Comets.

Ferriero has played 98 career NHL games between Vancouver, San Jose and the New York Rangers, scoring 23 points (14 goals, nine assists) with 25 penalty minutes. He has one goal and six penalty minutes in eight playoff games.

The five-foot-11, 185-pound forward signed with the Canucks as a free agent on July 12. A native of Essex, Mass., Ferriero was originally drafted by Phoenix, 196th overall in the 2006 NHL draft.

Quote of the Day

I don't know how he does it. I don't know how he gets his body parallel with the player and pulls it through his legs like that. I know he's tried it a couple times in practice and it's never worked, so how he does it in a game, it's incredible.
