VANCOUVER - The Vancouver Canucks have assigned forward Benn Ferriero to the American Hockey League's Utica Comets.
Ferriero, 26, appeared in two games for the Canucks this season. He has appeared in 32 games with Utica, putting up 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) and 10 penalty minutes.
Ferriero has played 98 career NHL games between Vancouver, San Jose and the New York Rangers, scoring 23 points (14 goals, nine assists) with 25 penalty minutes. He has one goal and six penalty minutes in eight playoff games.
The five-foot-11, 185-pound forward signed with the Canucks as a free agent on July 12. A native of Essex, Mass., Ferriero was originally drafted by Phoenix, 196th overall in the 2006 NHL draft.
