Anaheim Ducks sign F Andrew Cogliano to 4-year, $12 million contract extension

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Forward Andrew Cogliano has agreed to a four-year, $12 million contract extension with the Anaheim Ducks.

The Ducks announced the deal Saturday for the durable forward, who is on pace for the best season of his NHL career.

Cogliano has 13 goals and 12 assists and a plus-16 rating while playing in all 43 games for the Ducks.

Usually playing on a line with fellow veterans Saku Koivu and Daniel Winnik, Cogliano has provided speed and secondary scoring for the Pacific Division leaders during their 30-8-5 start.

Cogliano's extension runs through the 2017-18 season. He could have been a free agent this summer, but Cogliano says he had no desire to test the market at the risk of disrupting a good situation in Anaheim.
