General manager Doug Wilson said in a statement that Hertl is expected to make a full recovery, but that there is no immediate timetable for his return to the lineup.

Hertl was injured Dec. 19 in a knee-on-knee collision with Los Angeles Kings captain Dustin Brown.

The 20-year-old leads all NHL rookies with 15 goals and 25 points in 35 games.
