Defenceman Nathan Beaulieu shootout hero in Bulldogs' 4-3 win over Comets

UTICA, N.Y. - Defenceman Nathan Beaulieu scored in the sixth round of the shootout as the Hamilton Bulldogs edged the Utica Comets 4-3 on Saturday in American Hockey League action.

Maxime Macenauer and Martin St. Pierre also had goals for Hamilton in the shootout, while Nicklas Jensen and Alexandre Grenier scored for Utica.

Gabriel Dumont, Louis Leblanc and Greg Pateryn scored for the Bulldogs (15-14-4) in regulation time. Mike Condon made 28 saves through three periods and overtime.

Henrik Tommernes's power-play goal 1:04 into the third period forced overtime for the Comets (10-16-3), the minor-league affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks. Alexandre Grenier and Darren Archibald also scored for Utica.

Joe Cannata stopped 37 shots in net for the Comets.

Hamilton did not score on its one power play. Utica went 2 for 6 with the man advantage.
